David Wang
David Wang is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Virginia Tech, where he has taught courses on the Chinese economy and international economics. His research focuses on macro-financial policy, climate finance, and the Chinese economy, and he has published in journals including Nature Energy, Journal of Banking & Finance, Energy Economics, and Resource and Energy Economics. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, he worked in both the public and private sectors. He spent over seven years at the International Monetary Fund, most recently as a Senior Financial Sector Expert in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department, and has also served as Chief Economist for Asia at Credit Suisse. Earlier in his career, he held roles at BlackRock and Morgan Stanley, and he began his professional life as a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
